Sign PDFs through GoPaperless Agent
- Prepare the PDF version
- Certificate and approval
- Read validation results
Read Adobe results in the SIC recording
The Alpha recording shows Passkey authorization and a PDF signature, but Adobe reports UNKNOWN because revocation checks could not be completed then. Signature appearance or history status does not replace validation.
Prepare the PDF
- Use Adobe Reader or an application confirmed for your deployment. The source also lists Foxit Reader.
- Finalize the PDF version and check signing positions and document permissions.
- Sign in to Agent and check the certificate subject.
Sign and inspect
Create a signing position
In the Acrobat interface documented by Adobe, use All tools → Use a certificate → Digitally sign; draw the signing area, select the intended Digital ID and choose Continue. Menus may differ by application and version.
Select the certificate
Check subject, provider, validity and purpose before selecting.
Confirm the request
Choose Sign and review the request. The VNeID source describes a Waiting for Signature window and phone confirmation.
Save the result
Complete authorization on the applicable route, save the output PDF and inspect signature details.
Read the status
Check document changes, signer identity and trust status. A visible signature image is not proof of cryptographic validity.

When validation fails
- Uncertain response: Reconcile the transaction before requesting another signature.
- Untrusted certificate: Inspect the trust chain and configuration; do not disable validation.
- Changed document: Identify the signed version and subsequent changes, then apply the records process.
